Mama, Do This One Thing To Help Start Your Day With The Kids Right.

When you have littles at home and you wake up...

😴 And you feel like you just.want.more.sleep.

🧒🏻 But you can hear your blessings...up, awake, near you..or on you...

🥞 And there's breakfast that needs to be done...

There are some things that we can choose to do to help us feel better.

To (possibly) take our minds off the fatigue. To help change our states for the better.

What would we do if we were going into an office, a full day outside, or meeting with others?

I know what I'd do.

I'd get ready in the morning.

So I invite us to consider doing the same for our days at home (or out) with our kids.

It doesn't have to be fancy. Or elaborate. And it can be a 'most of the time' kinda thing (that's what I aim for!)

It can be a short routine personalised to us that makes us feel good. That can make us feel on top of things, instead of merely hoping the kids don't rock the boat (been there! 🙋🏽‍♀️)

Getting ready in the morning can help us shift our states - from resistance to the day or mere 'meh' to 'Bismillah, I feel good!'.

Or the shift can look like 👉🏽 I'm still feeling tired but I'm working 'with' my situation now and taking steps to have a good day with my kids and proactively captain the Mummy ship.

Simple is my key word to this routine.

A simple, comfortable outfit.

Leggings and a top.

Neatish, messy bun (no, it isn't an oxymoron 🙃)

And sometimes a nice scent.

We can think about what would feel good for us at home and incorporate that...a nice scent? Some simple make-up? (why not?)

Let's take getting ready as a self-care win; and as an investment into our days at home with our littles. And remember: consider keeping it simple.

And as always with parenting, remember, that it’s not practice makes perfect, it’s practice makes progress.
